TM CPC Exam Structure Explained

Understand the two-part assessment and how your preparation should differ for each paper.

TM CPC Exam Structure Explained

TM CPC practical guide: This article is written to help candidates understand the subject in plain English and connect exam knowledge with the real responsibilities of a Transport Manager.

Two different assessment skills

The qualification is assessed through multiple-choice questions and case-study questions. You need to pass both parts. They reward different skills, so revision should include both factual recall and practical application.

Multiple-choice preparation

Multiple-choice questions can test any part of the syllabus. Accurate knowledge matters, but so does reading every option carefully and avoiding assumptions based on familiar industry practice.

Case-study preparation

Case studies give you an operational scenario and ask you to apply knowledge to it. Good preparation includes practising how to identify relevant facts, show calculations clearly and structure answers around what the question actually asks.

Do not revise only your favourite subjects

A balanced revision plan is important because the syllabus covers legal, financial, safety, operational and commercial topics. Track your weaker areas and deliberately give them study time.
